Ballet Bodice

This bodice is made from a pattern draped by Barbra Matera for the National Ballet. The fashion fabric is a silk and cotton sateen flatlined to cotton backed satin. The front flatlining is quilted in a spiral pattern to stiff stuff for added support. The bodice is boned with a combination of spiral and straight steel bones encased in Prussian tape. The seams are serged, laced and cross stitched. The top and bottom edges are finished off with a narrow cording. This garment was cut and stitched by Cullen Keogh and modeled by Athene Wright Please see the bottom of the page for process pictures.
